Drank the
2007 Ajello Nero d'Avola, Sicily tonight with grilled lamb (shoulder) skewers and a green salad made with baby romaine and arugula from the garden. Opens with a spicy, tart cherry nose that gets sweeter the longer it sits in the glass. Really blossoms into something nice after half an hour or so. The finish is longer than it should be at this price point and oscillates between dusty tannins and a camphor-like flavor. Nice value; especially if Mediterranean fare is on the menu tonight.
